Laser engraving is appropriate for surfaces that produce a high contrast.
Black Maglites produce a matt silver result and offer excellent contrast.
Highly polished chrome products engrave exceptionally well.
Matt silver finishes generally produce minimal contrast and the effect is discreet.
Life expectancy
Laser engraving is permanent and lasts for the life of the product.

Permanent decoration and the ability to engrave variable information such as individual names or sequential numbering.

Laser engraving is a discreet form of decoration and the effect is subtle.
Average lead–times
Average turnaround is 7 days.
Sampling
We highly recommend engraving pre-production samples and often insist on it if we encounter a product that produces a very subtle result. A pre-production sample requires an additional set-up. This cost is in addition to the normal set-up. It usually adds 1-2 days to the turnaround.
Multi colour images
Not applicable to laser engraving.
Smallest possible artwork font size
Minimum font size for text legibility is 0.5 mm high (2pt)

Pens and key rings are the most commonly engraved item.

Set-up costs
There are set-up costs involved with laser engraving.
Repeat Set-up costs
Repeat orders include the cost of preparing an artwork layout for approval and setting up the machine for a particular products to be engraved.
The job requires the same amount of set-up time for repeat orders, and therefore includes a repeat set-up charge.
Repeat set-up costs are usually 60% of the original set-up costs.
